Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has lost his elder brother, retired AVM Aliyu Ahmed El-Rufai.
Daily Trust reports that the late AVM died at the age of 71.
Legit.ng gathered that a family source who confirmed the death to the newspaper, said the late AVM died in the early hours of Saturday, January 17, at a hospital in Abuja after a protracted illness.

The source said the late AVM is survived by a wife and six children and that his funeral rite would take place at Sultan Muhammad Bello Mosque, Kaduna, after the Assar prayers as arrangements are being made to convey his remains to Kaduna today, January 19.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Nigerian Ambassador to Cote d’Ivoire, Ibrahim Isah, died after a protracted illness.
It was reported that Isah passed on Tuesday, January 15, in Abidjan, the country's capital at 59. The late Isah, who hailed from Niger state, joined the Nigerian Foreign Service in 1983.
