Bournemouth slam £75m on Chelsea target amid January transfer move

- Chelsea to cough out £75m if they must sign red-hot Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson

- The Blues are not comfortable with Alvaro Morata's average performance and are hoping to strengthen their attack this month

- They are also weighing their options for AC Milan forward Gonzalo Higuain who worked under Sarri while at Napoli

Premier League outfit Bournemouth have reportedly informed Chelsea to pay a huge sum of £75 million for England international Callum Wilson this month.

The 20-year-old has been in superb form foe the Cherries this campaign, scoring nine goals and assisting five others after 20 round of Premier League matches.

According to Tribal Football quoting Daily Star, the amount is 25 times the prize they paid when signing him from Coventry for Wilson in July 2014.

However, the Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is not willing o pay the amount stipulated by the club, but can go as high as £50 million in order to land their target.

The former Napoli boss is seriously looking for a replacement for Alvaro Morata, who has not lived up to standard since he moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2017.

Morata has just seven goals in all competitions for his side this season - a stat not too convincing for his manager.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe insists that his star striker is going nowhere during this January transfer window.

That is the club's public stance. But, behind closed doors, the general consensus of the Bournemouth hierarchy is they would listen to any offer above £70m.

The Blues boss is desperately looking to add depth to his side's attack in a bid to increase their chances of winning titles this season.

Sarri replaced Antonio Conte at the Stamford Bridge this summer after parting ways with Italian league side Napoli.
