Barcelona set to launch a bid for Man United top star this summer

- Man United star Juan Mata is wanted in Spain by Barcelona

- The 30-year-old's current deal with the Red Devils expires at the end of the ongoing season

- Mata has made 15 Premier League appearances this term scoring two and assisting two others

Manchester United star Juan Mata has reportedly emerged as top priority signing for La Liga giants Barcelona at the end of the season.

The Spaniard made just nine starts from 15 Premier League appearances so far this campaign, scoring two and assisting two others in the process.

However, the former Chelsea attacker is not excited with the bench warming role at Old Trafford and will consider a move away from the club.

According to Goal, the Catalans have shown interests in signing Mata once his deal expires this summer.

Meanwhile, Barca will have to battle Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of the 30-year-old midfielder.

Though, Man United are said to be negotiating new deal with the Spanish midfielder but nothing positive has been concluded yet.

The Red Devils are said to have triggered a one-year option in his current deal to keep him until July 2019, but interest from elsewhere could see his head turned.

Mata currentlt earns £140,000-a-week according to Goal, but the Catalans will be excited to sign him on free transfer.

Barca have already signed Ajax's Frenkie de Jong this week for a fee around €75 million (£65m/$85m) but will arrive the club at the end of the season.

The club are still interested in signing PSG's Adrien Rabiot, whose contract with the French side also expires in June 2019.

Having joined Man Utd in January 2014, Mata has made 208 appearances for the 20-time champions of English football, scoring 44 goals and contributing 35 assists.

Legit.ng earlier reported that contract talks involving Manchester United and midfielder Juan Mata have stalled after latest round of talks.

The star midfielder will be out of contract with United at the end of the season but he is reluctant to pen a new deal with the Manchester outfit.

According to a report by Metro UK, Mata is not ready to commit his future at Old Trafford and will wait until January to make a final decision after assessing his options.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
