The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiiku Abubakar has met with Congressman Jason Smith as part of his visit to the United States.
In a photos shared by the spokesperson of the former vice president Segun Showunmi on Friday, January 18, Atiku met with the lawmaker representing Missouri's 8th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.

Also present at the meeting were the director general of the Atiku campaign, Senator Bukola Saraki and Ben Murray Bruce.
The purpose of the meeting has not been revealed yet but there is speculation it is to lobby for support ahead of the coming election.
Meanwhile, There is a plan by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to infiltrate the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with the aim of rigging the 2019 election, a support group for Muhammadu Buhari has alleged.
The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) made the allegation in a statement on Thursday, January, 17, saying Atiku and the PDP were plotting to sponsor their supporters to work within the commission as electoral officers.
The BMO further alleged that PDP had earmarked massive resources to rig the presidential election slated for February, 2019.

In the statement by its chairman, Niyi Akinsiju, and secretary, Cassidy Madueke, the BMO said the PDP planned to subvert the will of the people with the recent recruitment of a former INEC chairman who is known to have presided over the worse election in Nigeria recent political history.
“With their campaign daily losing steam, PDP has also resorted to accusing everyone directly or remotely connected to President Muhammadu Buhari of corruption; after realising that Nigerians are not buying any of their Dubai strategy of lies.
“Their leaders had been working on this plan for a while and had consciously been raising all sorts of allegations and attacking national institutions involved in the electoral process to divert attention from their devious agenda.
