Arsenal are six points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea and a defeat at the Emirates would not do their quest to finish in the Champions League spot though the league any good.

Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport claim Emery has informed Ozil that he will be surplus to requirement in the summer and, must get set to join another club, with the ex-German international already linked to Milan.

On the other hand, the playmaker insists he has no plans to leave the Emirates, and is putting in extra sessions in the gym to prove his fitness level to Emery.

“I want every player to give consistency. This is not always easy. What is most important is how he can help us,” Emery summed up.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Arsenal are keen on replacing midfield star Mesut Ozil with Real Madrid play-maker James Rodriguez.

According to UK Metro citing Daily Mail, the Colombian international has six months left on his two-year loan at Bayern Munich, but has continued to play second fiddle under Niko Kovac at Allianz Arena.

Gunners boss Unai Emery is eager to offload Ozil but the German’s £300,000-a-week salary is driving away potential suitors.
