Arsenal are keen on replacing midfield star Mesut Ozil with Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez.
According to UK Metro citing Daily Mail, the Colombian international has six months left on his two-year loan at Bayern Munich, but has continued to play second fiddle under Niko Kovac at Allianz Arena.

Gunners boss Unai Emery is eager to offload Ozil but the German’s £300,000-a-week salary is driving away potential suitors.
Interestingly, the Bavarians coughed out about £12m to sign Rodriguez from the Los Blancos in 2017, but the report further suggest Real Madrid are now willing to sanction Rodriguez switch to the Emirates for about £3m.

Bayern have the option of keeping Rodriguez for £40m but Kovac’s body language suggests he is not interested.
Already, Emery revealed last week that Arsenal could afford a loan fee for Rodriguez, but will not guarantee a permanently for a new arrival this window.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Arsenal manager Unai Emery wants German football star Mesut Ozil to leave the Premier League giants before the January transfer window closes.
The Gunners want to sell the former Real Madrid star so as to raise funds to bring in Barcelona star Denis Suarez to the Emirates stadium.
Mesut Ozil who is the Gunners' highest-paid player on around £350,000-per-week was left out of the team that lost against West Ham United in their last Premier League encounter.
