Alibaba gives reason for the low advert rate of upcoming election, says there is no money

Comedian Alibaba has always been known to give his opinion on political issues as they affect Nigerians and Nigeria as a nation. Recently, the very observant man took to his Instagram page to talk about an observation relevant to the time as well as to give reasons that explains away the event.

Accordingly, Alibaba noted that, unlike other times, the upcoming elections have not been well advertised neither have parties publicised their candidates to the public so much as before.

Although several posters and billboards have been put up by many political parties whose candidates are vying for several positions, not much has been done in the media sector. Unlike before, adverts have not been placed on radio stations and television channels.

Observing and studying this pattern, Alibaba has founded a reason for the less noise made about the upcoming election. He summed up his reason, and then, took to his Instagram page to express it.

According to Alibaba, the reason for the decrease in adverts for this year's election is due to no other reason than lack of money. For the comedian, the money that was supposed to be used for campaign was in the Treasury Single Account.

Also, Alibaba was of the opinion that the issue of Bank Verification Number had blocked other paths where money was meant to be accessed. The very fact that politicians had not been able to access so much money to campaign for the election gladdened the heart of the comedian.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
