VP debate: Nigerians react as Peter Obi emerges winner of Legit.ng Twitter poll

The much anticipated vice presidential debate has come and gone, leaving tons of mixed reactions from Nigerians who are looking forward to seeing a tough presidential election in 2019.

And as expected, the debate, which was held on Friday, December 14, 2018, among party vice presidential candidates including the incumbent Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s Peter Obi and three other candidates, dominated the socia media.

From Twitter to Facebook engagement, the reactions are massive, as Nigerians chose who was the best among the five people involved.

Meanwhile, a post-debate Twitter poll conducted by Legit.ng sought the opinion of Nigerians on who had the best moment on stage between PDP's Peter Obi and All Progressives Congress (APC)'s Yemi Osinbajo.

The online poll, which was conducted on Saturday, December 15, 2018, generated 1,933 votes.

By percentage, Obi, a former governor of Anambra state, won by a landslide of 64% to defeat Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who got 34% of the votes. 2% of the votes went to other vice presidential candidates.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
