Manchester City bounced back to winning ways in the Premier League after beating Everton 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Brazil international Gabriel Jesus shot the Citizens ahead in the 22 minutes of play after connecting with Leroy Sane's superb pass.
The hosts were unable to double their lead for the rest of the first half of the meeting despite creating series of chances earlier on.
However, just five minutes into the second stanza, Jesus doubled City's lead and also completed his brace for the game.
He rose high up to meet Leroy Sane's cross in the 50th minute as he sends Jordan Pickford the wrong way with his header.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin reduced the visitor's deficit in the 65th minute after his header was deflected by Fabian Delph into the net.
Pep Guardiola made some tactical substitution with Raheem Sterling coming on for Leroy Sane and just three minutes into play, he grabbed his first of the game to hand City 3-1 lead.
Kevin De Bruyne also replaced Riyad Mahrez as he returns to the team after a long injury spell on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus' goals against the Toffees ended the Brazilian 11-match goal drought as he last scored a goal for the club in August.
