Southampton end Arsenal's 22-match unbeaten streak with a win at St. Mary's

- Southampton record first home win for the first time since April with a 3-2 win over Arsenal

- The Gunners were coming into the match with a 22-match unbeaten streak in all competitions

- The entertaining Premier League match, produced three goals in the first half and two in the second

Arsenal's 22-match unbeaten run in all competitions ended following a 3-2 defeat to Southampton in St.Mary's.

The Gunners were the first to ask questions in the opening exchanges as a through ball for Matteo Guendouzi found Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the Gabonese striker forced a good save from Alex McCarthy.

But it the 53rd minute Mkhitaryan leveled the score for the Gunners as his deflected shot came off Jannik Vestergaard to bring the game back at 2-2.

Southampton thought they had taken the lead in the 75th minute as Shane Long was scramble a shot beyond Bernd Leno but the referee 's assistant waved offside.

Aubameyang again failed to get a decent contact from Guendouzi's shot after starting a swift counter attacking move in the 77th minute.

Substitute Charlie Austin lashed was in a perfect position to head home a cross from Long's cross as the Saints regain the lead for the third time to make it 3-2.

The referee blew whistle as the match ended in favour of the Saints which takes out of the relegation zone.
