Sadique Abubakar reacts as gunmen kill ex-security chief Alex

- Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff, has condemned the killing of Alex Badeh by some unknown gunmen

- Abubakar stated that Nigerian Air Force is working tirelessly to arrest the killers of Badeh, former Chief of Defence Staff

- He said the incident highlights the need to redouble efforts to ensure that criminals are not allowed to endanger lives and property

Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff (CAS), stated that the Nigerian Air Force is working with other security agencies to get the killers of a former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Chief Air Marshal, Alex Badeh, to book.

Daily Trust reports that Abubakar who made this known on Wednesday, December 19, during the fourth quarter CAS conference in Abuja.

According to him, it is unacceptable for a former service chief to be killed by assailants on the road.

He said: “The entire Air Force family is in shock and commemorate with his family and we are encouraged by the sympathy shown by many Nigerians.

“The incident highlights the need to redouble efforts and work round the clock and collaborate more to ensure that criminals are not allowed to endanger lives and property.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the president of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, expressed shock over the murder of former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, saying that the country had suffered another great loss with the passing of the military officer.

Badeh was reportedly assassinated along Abuja-Keffi road. He died inside his car. In his reaction, Saraki said: “‏Nigeria has suffered another great loss with the passing of former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh.''

In a related development, Senator representing Bayelsa east constituency condemned the killing of Alex Badeh by some unknown gunmen.

Bruce in a tweet said the country is only currently interested in political arguments involving the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party and have failed to notice that Nigeria is failing.
