Revealed: How Ronaldo planned Real Madrid exit in January

- Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo decided to leave Real Madrid in January 2018

- His agent Jorge Mendes made this known while speaking on the ex Man United star

- Ronaldo has been impressive this season for Juventus in all competitions

It has been claimed that January this year was when Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo made it known that he wanted to leave Spanish club Real Madrid.

This is according to famous football agent Jorge Mendes who explained how he was told by Cristiano Ronaldo his plans to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

Cristiano Ronaldo officially left Real Madrid in July for a world record move to Italian club Juventus, but Mendes claimed that he had made up his mind several months ago.

''Ronaldo is the best in history and the credit for this deal isn't mine, it's Juve and President Andrea Agnelli's who decided to take Cristiano.

''Juventus wanted him and they bought him, he'd already told me he wanted to play for Juventus in January, that's the truth.

"I thought it was impossible, but what I said to him was that it was very difficult, not impossible. Then I met the directors, the first meeting was with Pavel Nedved and Fabio Paratici, before the game against Real.

"Then I met the President, and from impossible I started to believe it was becoming probable, and as soon as Agnelli took the stage it was feasible. The negotiations lasted a couple of months,'' Mendes explained according to the report on Bleacher.

Before leaving Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo won La Liga and the Copa del Rey twice and also scooped four UEFA Champions League titles.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo was reported to have told Juventus' chiefs to give him three more bodyguards for himself and his family in Italy.

One of these three men will be monitoring his house in the Gran Madre Park, while the other two guards will be looking after him and his family.
