Man United selling Pogba is "no big deal" as his days at the club are numbered

- Red Devils legend Roy Keane says selling Pogba in January will not be a big deal for the club

- The Frenchman was an unused substitute for United in their away defeat to Liverpool at Anfield

- He is yet to start any game for United since this month started a few weeks back

Manchester United legend Roy Keane believes selling Paul Pogba would be the best option for the club.

The World Cup winning midfielder was an unused substitute in Red Devils' 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, December 16.

SunSport also reported that the Frenchman has not started a Premier League game for the club since December 1st owing to the numerous issues he has with his manager.

He also failed to make an impact in their slim defeat to Valencia in their last group game in the Champions last week.

However, Red Devils' former midfielder who scored 33 goals in 323 appearances for his club during his 12 year reign claims Pogba's days at Old Trafford are numbered.

Speaking on Super Sunday, the Irishman said: "I think there are one or two problems with players, obviously not on top form. "And the obvious one being Pogba.

"If he's sitting on the bench today and not getting on then you're thinking his days must be numbered.

"I don't think they'll do anything with Pogba in January but come the summer you move him on and it's no big deal, he's left Manchester United before."

United fans on Twitter appeared to agree with Keane, with one stating: "Why wait till then. Get him out in January."

Another added: "They could easily get 100+ million for him then use that to buy some players who actually want to play for the club."

The former Sunderland and Aston Villa manager said before the match kicked off that United stars were looking "disinterested" and he claimed Mourinho "doesn't trust his players."

Fellow pundit and Liverpool legend Graeme Souness also took the chance dig out the £89million midfielder.

He said: "For me, he's not improved since he came to England.

"He's not got any better. I have sympathy with the manager, I think he's got a hell of a job to sort him out.

"I'm not sure that can be done and that's why he stays on the bench. Pogba must be sitting there, thinking 'surely I'm better than Fellaini, surely I'm better than Matic.'"

It is reported that United are prepared to sell Pogba back to Juventus after they paid a record fee for him.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool beat Manchester United 3-1 to maintain unbeaten status at Anfield last weekend.

A goal from Senegal international Sadio Mane and two others from Xherdan Shaqiri sealed the win for the Reds in the game.

Jurgen Klopp's men returned to the summit of the Premier League table with just one point better than defending champions Manchester City.
