Justi in: Army troops neutralise 3 female bombers

- Three bombers have been neutralised on Sunday, December 30, by troops of the Nigerian Army

- The troops also recovered one Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) and a suicide vest

Troops on Sunday, December 28, neutralised three female suicide bombers, while on patrol around Kubtara village in Dikwa local government area of Borno state.

A statement by Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Theatre Command, Operation Lafiya Dole on Monday said the troops also recovered one Rocket Propelled Grenade and a suicide vest at the scene of the incident.

Nwachukwu said that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai had commended the troops for their successful exploits.

Buratai encouraged them to be more daring, vigilant and steadfast, as they clear the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists.

In another development, the Nigerian Army has described a video in circulation showing a soldier complaining of lack of weapons as not a “true reflection of today’s reality.”

Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, the Director of Army Public Relations, said that in the video, a “supposedly soldier clad with an AK-47 rifle alleged lack of arms and ammunition, among other soldiers in a remote location.”

“This is not true, as the video was recorded in 2014 and therefore cannot be a true reflection of the present reality.

“The public are please requested to discountenance the video clip,” Usman said.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Buni Gari town in Gujba local government area of Yobe state was on Saturday, December 29, reportedly attacked by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, less than 30 days after a similar attack on the town.

The attack on the town located less than 4 kilometres to the 27 taskforce brigade, and about 53 kilometres to Damaturu, the state capital, started around 6pm on Saturday with sporadic gunshots and houses being set ablaze by the terrorists.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
