Joy in Zamfara community as serving police officer donates outpost complex to tackle insecurity

- A deputy superintendent of police, Murtala-Muhammad Sani, has given a building to Zamfara community

- Sani said he donated the outpost for the police as part of his contribution towards improving security in the state

- Appreciating Sani's kindness, the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, thanked DSP Sani for the gesture

A deputy superintendent of police, Murtala-Muhammad Sani, has donated a police outpost complex to Tsauni community in Gusau local government area of Zamfara.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the outpost was commissioned by the state commissioner of police, Usman Belel, on Thursday, December 13, in Tsauni community.

Legit.ng gathers that Sani, who was ADC to former governor of Kogi, retired Captain Idris Wada, said he donated the building for the police to establish the outpost in the area as part of his contribution to improving security in the state.

Belel, however, described the gesture as a welcome development and encouragement.

He said: “This is very encouraging to have a serving police officer donating the outpost to a particular community, noting that it indicated his dedication to the police force and determination to provide security.

“This is the good example of community policing. We are calling on people of the state to support community policing in order to provide lasting solutions to the dwindling security challenges.”

The state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Bello Dankande, thanked the donor and urged well meaning individuals in the state to emulate him.

Dankande, who is the north west chairman of police community public relations’ committee, said the state government would furnish the office.

The Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, also thanked DSP Sani for the gesture.

Bello, represented by Madawaki of Gusau, Alhaji Dahiru Shehu, urged the people to cooperate with the police and other security agencies to provide lasting solutions to their security challenges.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Police Service Commission (PSC) on Monday, November 26, commended President Muhammadu Buhari over his commitment towards enhancing the welfare of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

Retired Justice Clara Ogunbiyi, a commissioner in PSC, gave the commendation when he was speaking with State House correspondents after a delegation from the commission had a closed-door meeting with Buhari at the Presidential Villa.
