How police and LASTA officials brutalized me in Lagos - Actor Gideon Okeke

- Nollywood actor, Gideon Okeke has revealed on social media how he fell victim to police brutality in Lagos

- According to his post, the incident occurred after he was involved in a minor accident with another driver

- He went on to state that he would be pressing charges against the police of that division

While cases of SARS officers terrorizing innocent citizens may have reduced, it appears some people are still experiencing this horrible treatments and joining the list is Nollywood actor, Gideon Okeke.

The Tinsel star has taken to social media to recount how he recently became a victim of police brutality in Lagos. According to his post and the video he posted on his Instagram page, he claimed he was severely manhandled and ruffed up by some police officers and LASTA officials Lekki Phase 1 around.

According to the story, he had gotten involved in a minor accident with a female driver identified as Mosummole Ilori. After the had come to an agreement, they decided to move their cars to a side of the road which was barricaded. They sought the help of the officers and that's when both Okeke, Ilori and her niece were abused by the officers.

Appearing in the video with his chin covered in plaster, the prolific actor called on the governor and other people in power to see into the numerous cases of police brutality filed against police officers.

Going further, Okeke revealed he is not going to be a mere statistics as he has decided to file a legal suit against the police officers, stating they were not only a threat to his life but his economy. Explaining further, he stated that the injury prevented him from appearing as an MC for a show he was paid for.

This is really sad and we hope he gets justice.
