Emerging reports claim that men of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) have taken over the National Assembly Complex.
The Punch reports that the officers' action has prevented workers from gaining entry. The main entrance close to the Eagle Square has also been barricaded with patrol vans.
The security operatives also frisked journalists, construction workers, vendors and a few who they felt should be allowed in.

The workers, under the auspices of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, had shut down the complex as part of their four-day warning strike.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the National Association of Nigerian Students, appealed to National Assembly Workers, under the aegis of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), to shelve their ongoing strike.
The business activities at the National Assembly complex ,Abuja was paralysed on Monday, December 17, as members of PASAN commenced a 4-day warning strike.
The National Assembly workers are demanding payment of their outstanding salary arrears, allowances and other welfare packages.

NANS national public relations officer, Bestman Okereafor, made the appeal in in Enugu. Okereafor said the ongoing strike would cause a major setback as regards the 2019 national budget presentation by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, December 19, to a joint session of parliamentarians.
In a related development, the federal lawmakers were forced to vacate the National Assembly complex after civil servants under the aegis of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, cut off electricity and water supply in the building as part of their four-day warning strike.
The workers embarked on the industrial action to demand for the payment of their outstanding salary arrears, allowances and other welfare package.
The aggrieved workers had initially prevented other people providing essential services from accessing the complex, but rescinded their decision from 10.30am.
