Female blind beggar miraculously regains eyesight after she was threatened with tear gas (photos)

It has just been reported that a female blind beggar miraculously regained her eye-sight after being threatened with tear-gas in Warri, Delta state.

It was added that the middle-aged was arrested by the police along with her daughter. The president of the Nigerian Child Welfare Fund, Joshua Omorere, disclosed that he has been warning fake blind beggars who stay around Jakpa junction to desist from deceiving innocent people.

Omorere added that he has specially warned this woman to desist from the act, so he led a team of police officers to raid the junction and the woman was arrested with her daughter. Other beggars there took to their heels on seeing the police.

It was also reported that some of the police officers were convinced that the woman was truly blind after she and her daughter broke down in tears. But in getting to the police station and officers threatened to put tear gas in her eyes, she regained her sight immediately.

She was identified as Ada Nwachukwu who came all the way from Orlu in Imo state to hustle for her daily bread. It was later gathered that these beggars make a minimum of N5,000 daily and has at the time Nwachukwu was arrested, she had already made N3,270.

They were also accused of allegedly using children who are not theirs to beg people for money. The fake blind beggars were busted by a taskforce team formed by the Anambra Ministry of Women Affairs, Social welfare and Children.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
