Breaking: House of Reps member Kabiru Abayomi dies in Lagos hospital

It was day of mourning for the residents of the Ibeju-Lekki federal constituency as the member representing them at the House of Representatives, Hon Kabiru Abayomi Ayeola, was declared dead after a brief illness.

Legit.ng confirmed the sad incident from sources close to the lawmaker and they confirmed that the lawmaker died on Sunday, December 30.

The nature of the illness could not, however, be ascertained.

Hon Kabiru Abayomi Ayeola was, until his death, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

A brief biography of the deceased on the website of the National Assembly shows he was 60 years old and former local government chairman.

His death was also confirmed by a former member of the House of Representatives, Lanre Odubote, who posted the incident on social media.

"Good night a distinguished ranking federal legislator. My brother, my confidant, a grassroot mobilizer. Sleep on brother, till we meet to part no more. Sun re o. Ayomee," Odubote said.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
