Barcelona draw up 7-man shortlist to replace Luis Suarez

- Arsenal target Nicolas Pepe has been linked with a January 2019 move to Spanish club Barcelona

- The 23-year-old winger is among the seven players Barcelona listed to replace forward Luis Suarez

- Nicolas Pepe has scored 12 goals in 18 appearances this season for French club Lille

Premier League giants Arsenal are now on the verge of missing the signing of Lille winger Nicolas Pepe who has been linked with a move to Spanish champions Barcelona.

Gunners' manager Unai Emery is reportedly planning a move for the 23-year-old Ivorian footballer as a replacement for Danny Welbeck once his contract expires at the Emirates.

But according to the latest report by UK Sun, Barcelona have included Nicolas Pepe in their seven-man shortlist of players that would replace Luis Suarez at the Nou Camp.

Former Liverpool star Luis Suarez will turn 32 next month and the Catalan side want to prepare for life without the striker.

Nicolas Pepe has been impressive this season for Lille scoring 12 times in 18 appearances this season for the French club.

Timo Werner, Kasper Dolberg, Krzysztof Piatek, Luka Jovic and Andre Silva are also said to be on Barcelona's transfer list when the January window opens.

Arsenal are currently occupying fifth position on the Premier League standings with 34 points, while Spanish champions Barcelona are topping the La Liga table with 34 points after 16 games.
