Arsenal join Leicester City in heated race to sign Super Eagles star

- Arsenal and Leicester City are reportedly considering a move for Nigeria's Super Eagles youngster Samuel Chukwueze

- The 19-year-old has scored six times in 22 appearances this season for Villareal

Arsenal and Leicester City have been linked with a move for Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze, The Sun reports.

According to the report, both Premier League clubs could make a move for the 19-year-old when the transfer window opens next month.

However, Villarreal are taking the speculation very serious and have stepped up their efforts to tie Chukwueze down with a bigger deal.

Villarreal’s new coach, Luis Garcia admitted that Chukwueze is an important player in his team after watching the youngster score a wonder goal in the Europa League against Spartak Moscow.

Chukwueze has featured in 22 first-team appearances for Villarreal, finding the back of the net on six occasions.

He made his senior debut for Nigeria in October against Uganda during a friendly game played at the Stephen Keshi international stadium in Asaba.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Samuel Chukwueze, the 2015 U-17 World Cup Bronze boot winner, confirmed penning a professional contract with La Liga side Villarreal after months of negotiations.

The winger trained with the Spanish side's youth team as an 18-year-old after the World Cup tournament in Chile.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
