2019 budget presentation: Honourable Abdulmumin Jubrin reacts to lawmakers' booing

- A member of House of Representatives, Honourable Abdulmumin Jubrin, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari

- The Kano lawmaker said the president was courageous to have presented the 2019 budget at the National Assembly considering the current polity

- Jubrin also commended President Buhari for performing excellently before the aggrieved opposition lawmakers

All Progressives Congress (APC) member and House of Representatives lawmaker, Honourable Abdulmumin Jubrin, has reacted to the presence of President Muhammadu Buhari at the National Assembly for 2019 budget preparation.

In a brief eulogising post available on his verified Twitter handle, @AbdulAbmj, the Kano lawmaker praised the president, adding that his performance despite the present political situation, is suggestive of his courage and leadership endurance.

He said: "It takes courage for a president to go to NASS and present the budget during a period of bad politics and sharp divide across party lines."

Legit.ng gathers from the tweet that the former chairman of House budget and appropriation committee noted the current "sharp divide across party lines."

He, however, kudosed the president for his maturity and daring wisdom during the powerful presentation.

He said: "It was a show of extreme courage by @MBuhari to have gone ahead and did excellent as well.If you think it's a tea party,ask his predecessors."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers at the House of Representatives had given the reason behind their booing of the president when he was presenting the 2019 budget proposal on Wednesday, December 19, in Abuja.

Report claimed that upon entering the National Assembly for the budget presentation at 12pm on Wednesday, President Muhammadu Buhari became the subject of booing by the aggrieved opposition lawmakers.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
