Salami-led Presidential Panel Asks Buhari To Sack, Prosecute Magu For Corruption

Ibrahim Magu The Presidential Panel probing Ibrahim Magu, suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to sack him. The panel headed by the retired President of the Appeal Court, Justice Ayo Salami, in its interim report also recommended that Magu should be prosecuted for corruption and abuse of office. Magu is also accused of violating the code of conduct law by allegedly failing to declare all his assets when he assumed office in 2015. Abducted Ondo Travellers Narrate Ordeal In Kidnappers’ Den After Release

Gunmen Two travellers kidnapped last weekend by some gunmen in Ondo State have regained their freedom and also narrated their ordeals in the abductors’ den.  The victims were waylaid and seized between Oba and Ikun Akoko area of Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state. The duo — Surajudeen Ajao and Oladele Arisemase — were seized while travelling for a festival in Ikun area of Oba Akoko. Protest As Kaduna Government Officials Assault, Evict Widows, Orphans From Housing Estate

Residents of Malali Low Cost Housing Estate in Kaduna State on Friday protested against forceful eviction from their homes and assault by armed policemen accompanied by government officials. The residents took to the streets to protest against the injustice and humiliation they suffered in the hands of officials, who carried out the exercise. The protesters, who were mainly windows and orphans clad in black shirts, called on the governor to call the officials to order and in a bid to stop further violation and abuse of their rights. The eviction took place on Thursday July 19 when the team allegedly stormed the area and forcefully burgled rooms of the residents.
