Utomi, Na’aba Launch Movement, Vow To Rescue Nigeria From Collapse

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, and Prof Pat Utomi have called on Nigerians to take the bull by the horn and rescue the country from imminent and total collapse. They disclosed this in Abuja at a webinar organised to launch National Consultative Front ( NCFront ) on Monday. The group said it would roll out its plan for a new Nigeria by January 2021. Na’ Abba, who spoke at the event, said the group had engaged in nationwide consultations and mobilisation to take the country back and hand it over to a new generation of selfless, disciplined and competent political leaders. The former speaker said the move would promote and nurture a genuinely democratic political system and people-oriented government that would provide equitable, just and inclusive governance for the wellbeing of all Nigerians. Insecurity: Defend Yourselves, Catholic Bishops Tell Nigerians

Catholic Bishops of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province have called for total vigilance from the citizenry, in the face of growing insecurity in Nigeria.  The clerics made the call in a communiqué they issued after their second plenary meeting held at the Bishop House, Okigwe.  The communiqué, which was signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Archbishop Anthony J.V. School Principal Who Failed To Receive Fayemi During Sunday Visit Suspended

Students in Senior Secondary Schools Three in Ekiti State resumed on Monday for the commencement of West African Senior School Certificate Examinations. The state government on Monday announced the suspension of a school principal who was not available in the school on Sunday when the governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, visited some schools in the state on the level of compliance with the COVID-19 protocols. The Chairman of the National Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party, Governor Nyesom Wike, has said for the sacked national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, the upcoming Edo State governorship election is a matter of life and death. Military Task Force Arrests 8 Over Southern Kaduna Killings

The Military Task Force has arrested six suspects in connection with the killings in the southern part of Kaduna State. The suspects are Abubakar Ali, Ali Amadu, Bawa Idi, Umar Dikko, Garba Damon and Mohammed Ibrahim, Adamu Joseph and William Barnabas. Commander of the Task Force, Maj.-Gen Chukwuemeka Okonkwo, paraded the suspects in Kafanchan, on Monday. Recall that hundreds of Southern Kaduna women on Saturday in different communities took to major roads to display their displeasure over the incessant killings of their people by Fulani militia. The protesters, who trooped out in large numbers in Samaru Kataf in Zango Kataf Local Government Area, called on the government at different levels to tackle the situation.  Speaking on behalf of the protesters, Mrs Dorcas David called on the Kaduna State Government to remove the curfew imposed in the area as a matter of urgency.
