Just In: Ballot snatching, low turnout mar Imo re-run election

The supplementary election in some parts of Imo state has been marked with high level of low turnout, late arrival of voting materials, ballot box snatching and other forms of electoral violence . It was gathered that the elections that were meant to hold in five local government areas of Ngor-Okpala, Ikeduru, Oguta, Isu and Orlu, did not start until 11am, The Nation reports. Breaking: PDP reportedly asks INEC to cancel ongoing supplementary election in Kano

Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, the Kano state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has reportedly called on INEC to cancel the ongoing supplementary elections with immediate effect, according to Sahara Reporters. Addressing journalists in Kano, Bichi said PDP had received reports that some of its agents were molested, with vehicles burnt and property destroyed in Doguwa, Nasarawa, Minjibir and Tudun Wada LGAs. The PDP chairman alleged that security personnel gave hoodlums cover to unleash mayhem on their supporters. He also alleged that some political thugs were imported from neighboring states to cause chaos in the ongoing supplementary elections.
