DCLM Daily Manna – Watch What You Say

DCLM Daily MannaTopic: Watch What You Say [DCLM Daily Manna 16 November 2019 Daily Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Numbers 14:26-39

Key Verse: “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you” (Numbers 14:28)

There was a great famine in Samaria because the Syrian Army had besieged the city. It was so serious that two women arranged to eat their sons. Then Elijah, the man of God, prophesied that within twenty four hours there would be such abundance of food which would be sold so cheaply at the gate of Samaria. A lord on whom the king leaned asked if such a thing could be, even if God were to open a window in heaven. He was told that he would see it but will not eat of it. He saw it but did not eat of it. He died the next day because of his rash words.

The children of Israel had accepted the evil report of the ten out of the twelve spies, which put fear in their hearts. In response to their own belief and negative pronouncements, God promised that all they had spoken concerning their inability to enter the land will be so done to them.

The tongue, though a little member of the body can bring good or evil in the life of man, depending on the usage. Many, like the Shunammite woman and the centurion, brought blessings to their lives by the proper use of their tongues. Others like Miriam, the forty two children that mocked Elisha and the servant who received one talent from his master and not only failed to use it, but insulted him, brought judgement on themselves with their tongue.

How do you use your tongue? Do you backbite, gossip, find fault and curse? Do you use it to encourage and edify the body of Christ, seeking the glory of God? Caleb and Joshua entered the Land of Promise because they believed they would and confessed it. We are to live by faith, confessing the promises of God always so that we can have whatever we say.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you say is what you get.

Galadima, an ardent critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, claimed that he did not borrow money or have unpaid debt with Unity Bank, which lodged a complaint against him and occasioned AMCON’s move on Tuesday. The properties taken over include House No. 15, Addis Ababa Crescent, Wuse Zone 4, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and House No. 4, Bangui Street, Wuse 2, also in Abuja.  Reacting to the situation, Galadima said, “This is an attempt to disgrace and break me down. This is injustice and an attempt to humiliate me. "But I am unbreakable and they can never silence me. They sacked me and over 50 people that sleep in the apartment. "We don’t know where to go. We will remain on the streets. We will remain on the streets until God provi
