- However, the United States Embassy in Nigeria has said that contrary to rumoured speculations, it does not enjoy denying visas to prospective migrants
The United States Embassy in Nigeria has reacted to claims and opinions that it enjoys denying visas to intending travellers and migrants.

On its Twitter and Facebook official pages, the US embassy advertise some of its sensitisation online program on how to correctly fill some of its key travel documents.
The US embassy in the online advert revealed that the program will begin by 2:pm on Wednesday, April 17.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the US embassy had said that its Abuja and Lagos consulate general offices would remain open despite a government shutdown.
The embassy said that all consular businesses including visa appointments and interviews would take place at these offices.
The US further advised those who already had appointments or scheduled interview to attend their in the consulate offices.

The statement which was posted on its official Facebook page said: "US Embassy Abuja and Consulate General Lagos remain open for for all consular business, including visa interviews. Please attend your regularly scheduled interview."
