Tragedy as ex-Brazilian football star found dead on the streets of Sao Paulo

- Valdiram Caetano de Morais was sunk into dr*g addiction before going into the streets

- He was once a top scorer in the Copa do Brasil with his exploits on the pitch allowing him to play alongside Brazilian legend Romario

- The 36-year old was recently found dead in the streets of Sao Paulo

Curtains have fallen on former Brazilian football star Valdiram Caetano de Morais.

The footballer, better known as Valdiram, was reportedly found dead in the streets of Santana area in the city of Sao Paulo on Saturday, April 20.

According to a Mirror report citing sources in Brazil, Valdiram sunk into dr*g addiction on the streets years after his exploits in the Copa do Brasil where he once emerged top scorer.

Three men were arrested in connection with the former player's death who is said to have been murdered.

However, one of them has since been released for lack of sufficient evidence, but the other two remain in custody.

It is believed that Valdiram has been battling alcoholism and dr*g addiction for a decade now, living his life off the the streets.

The 36-year old broke to football stardom while with Brazilian topflight club, Vasco da Gama where he was teammates with iconic football star, Romario.

He joined Vasco da Gama in 2006, notching an impressive 14 goals in 32 appearances.

Soon after, he is said to have started missing training sessions, leading to the suspension of his contract as a disciplinary action.

He went on to feature for up to 20 teams in a space of 10 years, with spells in Qatar.

In 2018, he was found living on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, living in squalor and hopelessness.

His condition attracted the attention of former club, Vasco da Gama, and had him admitted at a rehabilitation center.

He was discharged months later, but still went back to the streets, relapsing until his unfortunate death.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Barcelona were reportedly interested in selling Brazil forward Philippe Coutinho but only to the club that was ready to offer huge some for his services.

The 26-year-old joined the Catalans in a six year deal valued around £142 million in January 2018, but had not been able to live up to his billings at the Camp Nou.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year. This did not however, materialize. According to the release, the project will have a four to five-year execution time after the signing of the FID.
