Bukola Saraki, the Senate president, has directed the clerk to the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani-Omolori to provide details of its 2019 budget for signing into law.

In his directive, Saraki said that a comprehensive breakdown of the National Assembly budget with necessary line items should be made ready.
Sani-Omolori, in the letter signed by the chief of staff to the Senate president, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, party wrote: “The President of the Senate has asked me to request you to please ensure that the NASS Budget Details with all the line items are ready for passage along with the National Budget when Senate resumes next week. Thank you.”
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Senate on Tuesday, April 2, said that all preparations to pass the N8.83 trillion 2019 budget proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari in December, 2018 are to be concluded soonest.
Saraki revealed that the passing of the said budget will be done on Tuesday, April 16. He also said all committees that had not submitted their budget defence reports to the appropriation committee should do so soon including the appropriation committee headed by Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje.

The chamber adjourned its plenary to Tuesday, April 9, in order to give all committees time to round up its work on the budget.
