Ex-Liverpool defender survives surgery as life-changing tumour was successfully removed

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has been given the all-clear by doctors following his fight with cancer after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour in May 2018.

The defender underwent an operation coupled with a series of radiotherapy sessions before successfully overcoming the brain tumour.

"Hello guys, I just have some wonderful news today," Enrique said in a video he posted on Instagram on Tuesday, April 16.

"I just got back from the MRI I had just a week and a half ago. I just wanted to let you know, because the support from all of you has been amazing, that it's all clear, all perfect," the former Reds defender said.
"Obviously when I received the news me and (my partner) Amy were together and even the dog, I think, understood it as well — and we are so happy about it," he added.

Enrique started his career with Levante and later spent nine years in the English Premier League joining the Newcastle in 2007 before eparting for the Reds back in 2011.

The Spaniard left Liverpool for Real Zaragoza in 2016 and eventually hang up his boots in 2017 due to a persistent knee injury that rendered him unable to continue playing.

Since quitting the game Enrique works as a football agent.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that after more than five years of dating, 57-year-old Liverpool legend Ian Rush has finally engaged Irish singer and model Carol Anthony, who is 22 years younger than him.

In 2012, Ian Rush split with long-term partner Tracy after 25 years of marriage before finding love in Carol Anthony a year later.

Carol, 35, grew up watching Rush as she is a lifelong supporter of Premier League side Liverpool.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year. This did not however, materialize. According to the release, the project will have a four to five-year execution time after the signing of the FID.
