EFCC to re-arraign Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia on Thursday, April 18

According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, a dismissed judge of the Federal High Court, will on Thursday, April 18, be arraigned in Lagos on an 18-count charge.

Alongside Godwin Obla (SAN) who is charged with bribery, Ofili-Ajumogobia will be standing trial before Justice Rilwan Aikawa on charges bordering on unlawful enrichment, taking property by a public officer, corruption, forgery and giving false information to the EFCC, all of which both accused pleaded not guilty.

However, the trial judge, Justice Oshodi, had struck out the EFCC's charges against Ofili-Ajumogobia and Obla, claiming the court's lack of jurisdiction over the case.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that operatives of the EFCC on Tuesday, April 16, laid siege within the premises of Ikeja high court in a bid to arrest Ofili Ajumogobia.

This followed the striking out of the 30 count charge suit against Justice Ajumogobia by Justice Hakeem Oshodi. Ajumogobia is facing charges bordering on corruption and abuse of office as a public officer.
