Drama as ex-minister Ezekwesili blocks former presidential aide Omokri on social media, Nigerians react

Amid social media spats a former special assistant to the erstwhile Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan, has announced that he has been blocked by ex-education and solid minerals minister, Oby Ezekwezili.

Omokri, a lawyer turned author and pastor, announced the development on his official and verified Twitter handle, @renoomokri, at about 9:15pm Nigerian time on Wednesday, April 17.

Although the former presidential aide described the block as ''a honour',' Legit.ng notes that the development might be connected to the growing harsh online engagement between the duo in the recent times.

Ezkwezili, who served as a education minister under the administration of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, shot herself to limelight as a human right advocate and founder of the popular #BringBackourGirl group.

The group, since its establishment has mounted pressure on the government, seeking for the release of the Chibok school girls abducted in 2014 under former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan-led administration, which Omori served as presidential aide.

She was the presidential candidate of Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) in the last 2019 general election.
