Messi reveals 1 special treatment from Betis fans he never enjoyed from rival clubs

Lionel Messi has taken out time to speak on Barcelona's 4-1 win over Real Betis iin a La Liga clash on Sunday night.

The playmaker netted a hat-trick, his fourth of the season and 33rd in LaLiga, but his third goal was simply out of this world and will linger on in memories of football followers for long.

In the buildup to the goal, Messi was looking away from goal, but somehow managed to chip the ball over Pau Lopez from a tight angle for his hat-trick.

A performance that sparked chanting of his name as well as a standing ovation from Betis fans at the Benito Villamarín.

Reacting after the encounter, Messi applauded Betis fans for the show of love, stressing that it was the first time he was hailed by rivals despite losing the game.

"I don't remember being applauded by rival fans for a goal before," Messi was quoted as saying by Movistar.

Speaking further, the Argentine star could not confirm if he netted similar tip-class goal in the past, even as he turned his attention to Barcelona position on the league.

"I don't know, I was lucky that both of them went in but above all we got the three points.

“We knew that we had a good opportunity to put a little distance between ourselves and Atlético and we couldn't fail,” Messi submitted.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Barcelona extended their lead at the top of La Liga log on Sunday, March 17, by beating Real Betis 4-1.

Argentine football legend Lionel Messi was in the best form of his life scoring three goals for the Catalans in this encounter.

Messi netted the first goal in the 18th minute from a superb free-kick to give Barcelona the lead. He scored the second goal for Barcelona in the 45th minute thanks to a superb assist he got from Luis Suarez.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year. This did not however, materialize. According to the release, the project will have a four to five-year execution time after the signing of the FID.
