Jigawa state gets guber, NASS polls petition tribunal

- Petition tribunal for governorship, state, and National Assembly elections have been constituted in Jigawa

- The state has also approved the use of chief magistrate court 1 Hall, high court of justice Dutse as trial courts and registry

- The state government urged security agencies and media houses sensitise the public on the fact that the registry is open to everyone

The president of the federal Court of Appeal, Justice Zainaab Bulkachuwa, has constituted the governorship, National and state Assembly tribunal for 2019 elections for Jigawa.

This is announced in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Thursday, February 28.

The chief judge of the state, Justice Aminu Sabo, has, in line with the development, approved the use of chief magistrate 1 Hall, high court of justice Dutse as trial courts and registry.

The statement urges the police, State Security Service (SSS) the media and the general public to note that the registry of the tribunal is open to members of the public and litigants for enquiries from 8: 00 a.m daily.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed, the new acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) on Saturday, January 26, swore in 250 members of the general elections tribunal.

During the swearing-in ceremony held in in Abuja on Saturday, Muhammed admonished the members of the election tribunals to carry out their duties with integrity and godly fear in their hearts.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year. This did not however, materialize. According to the release, the project will have a four to five-year execution time after the signing of the FID. Former Maritime Agency Boss, Buba Galadima, Accuses AMCON Of Witch-hunt After Property Takeover
