The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto, Ahmed Aliyu, on Sunday, March 24, congratulated Aminu Tambuwal over his victory as the elected governor of the state.
Aliyu called the governor, the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), just as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the final results for the election in the state.
The state government confirmed the call on its Twitter handle.
It also confirmed that the governor also received a call from Senator Aliyu Wamakko.
Tambuwal, according to INEC, won by a small margin of 342 of votes against Aliyu, the governor’s deputy who remained in APC.
Tambuwal also received congratulatory messages from the governor-elect of Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha, and Senator Ben Murray-Bruce.
Legit.ng earlier reported how the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, congratulated the Aminu Tambuwal, winner of the governorship election in Sokoto state.
Atiku’s statement was released just minutes after Tambuwal was declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
