APC candidate Adelabu concedes defeat, congratulates Seyi Makinde

- Seyi Makinde of the PDP has been congratulated on his victory in just concluded governorship election in Oyo state

- Among the people that congratulated Makinde are Adebayo Adelabu, candidate of the APC and his African Action Congress counterpart, Akinwale Laosun

- Makinde was declared winner of the poll after scoring the highest number of votes in the election

Adebayo Adelabu, candidate of the APC, and his African Action Congress counterpart, Akinwale Laosun, has congratulated Seyi Makinde of the PDP who was declared the winner of the governorship election in Oyo state.

Makinde was declared winner of the poll after scoring the highest number of votes in the election conducted. Makinde scored 525,621 votes to beat Adelabu who scored 357, 982.

The Nation reports Laosun while speaking through his campaign office urged the governor-elect to make sure he serves the people of the state by bringing free education, youth employment, good and affordable health care to the residents.

Adelabu said: “I am full of gratitude to God and to every single one of you for the journey so far. I offered myself up for service for the good of Oyo state. We ran a campaign that was issues based and was above board all through and I am quite proud of that.

“No life is worth being lost for any reason, I sincerely sympathize with the families of the bereaved, May their souls rest in Peace.

“While my party is studying the incidents of violence and various reported cases of electoral malpractices to determine further course of action if necessary, I congratulate Seyi Makinde of PDP.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Seyi Makinde of PDP emerged winner of Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Oyo state.

Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the INEC returning officer in the state, declared the result on Sunday evening at the state headquarters of INEC in Ibadan.

Ogundipe, said that Makinde scored 515,621 votes to defeat his closest rival, Adebayo Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress(APC) who garnered 357,982 votes.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year. This did not however, materialize. According to the release, the project will have a four to five-year execution time after the signing of the FID. The project is expected to add an extra 8 million tons per annum of gas to the 22 mtpa currently exported by the company. Oil News AddThis :
