Young Nigerian graduate takes her own life in Bayelsa ahead of NYSC

- A young graduate, Ebiere Asu, has reportedly committed suicide

- The young lady who was a graduate of English and Communications at Federal University Otuoke (FUO) was said to be depressed

- According to reports she took her life on Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Suicide rates seem to have increased in recent times going by the number of deaths that have been publicised on social media.

A number of these deaths have been attributed to depression, an indication that more attention needs to be given to people’s mental health.

Legit.ng recently gathered the report of a young graduate, Ebiere Asu, who reportedly took her life on Tuesday, February 26, 2019.

Ebiere who was a graduate of English and Communications at the Federal University Otuoke (FUO) reportedly committed suicide because she was depressed.

It was gathered that the young lady had locked herself in a toilet where she had taken her life. The door was later forced open and her corpse was found.

Ebiere was reportedly set to go for her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in March.

A friend of the deceased, Orile Favour, took to her Facebook page to mourn the loss.

Meanwhile Legit.ng previously reported that a final year student reportedly killed himself because he could not graduate with his mates.

A Twitter user identified as Mantse Floki (@Kofi_Floki), took to his handle to share the sad story of how he lost a friend because he could not graduate with the rest of his class.

According to him, the young man decided to take his own life when he realized his grade at the end of the semester was too low. Hence, he could not graduate with his mates. He also advised other final years students having a hard time to hang on regardless of their grades.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year. This did not however, materialize. According to the release, the project will have a four to five-year execution time after the signing of the FID.
