In his speech to the ruling party's members at Oko in Orumba north local government area, Uba, who is also the Anambra chairman of President Buhari’s campaign council, was glad that APC had become indeed a formidable force.

The senator stated: “In 2015, it was virtually impossible to see a large crowd during APC rallies because the people were not ready to listen to anyone who talked to them about APC or Buhari for that matter. But as the 2019 draws near, the situation is different.

“It did not just happen; it was through the efforts of some of us who joined the party. The people know us and when we approach them and tell them that APC is the best place to be, they don’t argue about it.”

Certain that he would emerge victorious at the senatorial poll in the constituency, he said that the victory will bring him much closer to his dream of becoming the Senate president soon.

Uba said: “President Buhari was ready to make an Igbo man the senate president in 2015, but he could not find a good ranking Igbo senator from the area. We therefore urge our people to vote for president Buhari, and also for me as the senator.

"Senate Presidency is a bigger position than even the governor of the state and so, if we get the senate presidency, it will mean having something more than a governor in this area.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a Federal High Court sitting in Awka, Anambra on Thursday nullified the election of Emeka Ibe as the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Chief Uzochukwu Onyekwere, a member of the APC in Anambra and chairmanship aspirant had gone to court to contest the May 19 state elective congress that brought in Ibe, over unlawful exclusion.

Defendants in the suit were Okey Ezea, Kingsley Chinda, Chairman of the APC Congress Committee in Anambra, Ibe, the acclaimed winner and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
