Shehu Sani, on his official Twitter page on Monday, February 4, claimed that state governors have the financial resources to fund violence, buy votes and work against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the coming general elections.
The senator further said that such governors also use state funds to hire thugs that will disrupt the electoral processes to their own advantage.
Moreover, he remarked that the talk about security especially during the polls should be focused on governors so that they can comply with set rules.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Shehu Sani had reacted to the political squabble between the campaign teams of President Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar.
Sani, a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), suggested that to end the allegations from Atiku and the reactions from the presidency, the two organisations that were named should come out with a statement clarifying the situation.
"In view of the moral dust raised by the questions on the shares of the two firms now on the scale of integrity,” he said, the two organisations should “publish the full names of their shareholders, to exhale the billows of smoke & clear the dark clouds hanging over the landscape of our nation.”
