- Emiliano Sala's body has arrived Argentina ahead of today's funeral in his hometown

Emiliano Sala's body is on its last journey to final resting place after arriving Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires on Friday.
According to a UK Sun, the Cardiff City forward’s remains in on its way to his hometown Progreso, about 334 miles northwest of Argentina’s capital for a special vigil and wake keeping before interment.

Interestingly, the 28-year-old Sala alongside pilot David Ibbotson of the single-engine aircraft crashed off the English Channel on January 21, 48 hours after sealing a £15m record switch from Nantes to Cardiff City.
Reports revealed that the pilot made contact with Jersey air traffic control before missing from the radar.
At the end of an official search, Barcelona star Lionel Messi joined other footy stars to power a £324,000 private search which discovered the debris of the plane on February 3.
Sala's body was recovered three days later while Mr Ibbotson remains missing.

Meanwhile, the special vigil before Sala’s internment will hold at the gymnasium of his boyhood club San Martin de Progreso, where he plied his trade until his 15th birthday.
In an emotional tribute, the club revealed everyone is waiting to pay their last respect to their own, who will remain in their hearts.
"We are waiting for you...like the first day you left but this time to stay with us forever.
"You went and you are an example for everyone. Eternally in our hearts,” a message on Facebook read in part earlier this week.
Cardiff’s manager Neil Warnock and chief executive Ken Choo are expected to be at the funeral.

And Sala’s former club Nantes will have defender Nicolas Pallois and general secretary Loic Morin as representatives at the burial.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Emiliano Sala reportedly died of head injuries he sustained after the plane crashed into the sea alongside Brit pilot David Ibbotson near Alderney on January 21.
According to UK Sun report, an inquest commenced proceeding into Sala’s death today before adjourning in Dorset, but they were informed that a post-mortem confirmed that the Cardiff City star died from "head and trunk" related injuries.
