Illbliss speaks on eight years wait for a child

Elevating to the status of parenthood is something that a lot of couples look forward to after getting married. However, when the wait for a child takes too long, it can become worrisome. Nigerian rapper, Illbliss, revealed what waiting for a child felt like in a new interview.

The popular rap act who recently received ovations for his debut acting performance in Nollywood movie, King of Boys, revealed how he and his wife were clueless about what to do regarding their search for the fruit of the womb in an interview with Pulse.ng.

He disclosed that it was an intense period for them, adding that, when their prayers for a child eventually came through, it was at a time when they had completely run out of options about what to do.

Illbliss said that they could not exactly put a finger to what the problem was, but they made sure to keep an optimistic mind and remain prayerful to God.

In an excerpt from the interview, he said: "It was intense my wife and I were childless for eight years and God just did it for us and gave us a baby at a point when we didn't even know what to do next. We didn't know how it was going to happen, we didn't know what the problem was, we were just optimistic and prayerful about it,"

In a good twist of event for the music executive, God finally answered his prayer for a child with his wife, Munachiso, in 2017. The couple was officially ushered into the status of parents as they welcomed a lovely baby girl.

The Transitional Phase of African Poetry

The Transitional Phase The second phase, which we have chosen to call transitional, is represented by the poetry of writers like Abioseh Nicol, Gabriel Okara, Kwesi Brew, Dennis Brutus, Lenrie Peters and Joseph Kariuki. This is poetry which is written by people we normally refer to as modem and who may be thought of as belonging to the third phase. The characteristics of this poetry are its competent and articulate use of the received European language, its unforced grasp of Africa’s physical, cultural and socio-political environment and often its lyricism. To distinguish this type of poetry we have to refer back to the concept of appropriation we introduced earlier. At the simplest and basic level, the cultural mandate of possessing a people’s piece of the earth involves a mental and emotional homecoming within the physical environment. Poems like Brew’s ‘‘Dry season”, Okara’s “Call of the River Nun”, Nicol’s “The meaning of Africa” and Soyinka’s “Season”, to give a few examples,

Former Maritime Agency Boss, Buba Galadima, Accuses AMCON Of Witch-hunt After Property Takeover

A former Director-General of the Nigeria Maritime Agency, Buba Galadima, has accused the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria of witch-hunt after the agency took possession of his business and assets on Tuesday in Abuja. Galadima, an ardent critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, claimed that he did not borrow money or have unpaid debt with Unity Bank, which lodged a complaint against him and occasioned AMCON’s move on Tuesday. The properties taken over include House No. 15, Addis Ababa Crescent, Wuse Zone 4, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and House No. 4, Bangui Street, Wuse 2, also in Abuja.  Reacting to the situation, Galadima said, “This is an attempt to disgrace and break me down. This is injustice and an attempt to humiliate me. "But I am unbreakable and they can never silence me. They sacked me and over 50 people that sleep in the apartment. "We don’t know where to go. We will remain on the streets. We will remain on the streets until God provi
