President Buhari's full speech at launch of Together Nigeria

- President Buhari attended the launch of the Together Nigeria event in Abuja

- The president commended those working hard to support his re-election for 2019

- He promised that hard work will be adequately rewarded with time

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured individuals and organisations working towards his re-election that hard work and loyalty will be adequately rewarded.

In a post published by Femi Adesina, the president gave this assurance at the launch of the Together Nigeria event on Wednesday, December 12. He applauded the organisers who came together from different backgrounds for the event.

The president noted that some persons may be feeling disappointed that they have not been recognised for their hard work but promised that loyalty will be rewarded.

The president congratulated and thanked the organisers of the event for putting it together. He said he was happy to be face to face with some celebrities whom he only sees on television.

The president’s statement reads: "Tonight’s event once again reminds me of our political struggles over the years and the support I enjoyed from many support structures such as The Buhari Organisation (TBO) and Buhari Support Organisation (BSO). I am happy that today we are not only celebrating our election victory but our numerous land mark achievements.

"I have listened and I acknowledge with delight the story of Buhari Support Organization (BSO) past, present and future from previous speakers. In particular, I commend the plan to reorganize and reposition the organization towards the forth coming election and beyond. This has once again given me further encouragement, hope and optimism in our political journey.

"At this point, I would like to acknowledge the over whelming support I enjoyed from individuals and organizations across the country over the years. I say thank you to all those who contributed to our successes in one way or the other.

"Some of you, individuals and organizations, may be feeling disappointed because we have not been able to please everyone. I would like to assure you that this time hard work and loyalty will be rewarded adequately."

Finally, I wish to The president thanked the Together Nigeria group for educating the world about federal government's good work and achievements. He also appreciated celebrities for projecting the image of Nigeria globally and for their contributions to the development of the entertainment industries.

"To our teeming supporters across the country and beyond I say thank you for your continuing and unrelenting support. I wish all of you present here safe journey back to your various destinations," he added.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that some prominent Nigerian celebrities on Wednesday, December 12, pledged their support for the re-election bid of President Buhari. The celebrities made the declaration while receiving awards for excellence from the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari in Abuja.

The celebrities included former Nigerian football stars – Daniel Amokachi, Peter Rufai, Garba Lawal and artistes – Korede Bello, Jide Kosoko, Iyanya, Joke Silva and DJ Jimi Jatt.
